About debt relief programs
- Results vary by individual. We do not guarantee that any debt will be settled or reduced by a specific amount.
- Not all debts are eligible for enrollment, and not all clients complete their program.
- Debt relief programs do not assume your debts or make monthly payments to creditors on your behalf.
- Not paying creditors during a program can lower your credit score, and creditors may charge late fees, continue collection activity, or file lawsuits.
- Forgiven debt may be considered taxable income. Consult a tax professional.
- Fees are not charged until at least one debt has been settled and you have made at least one payment under that settlement.
- Programs are not available in all states.
How the calculator works
Calculator results are illustrations based on the assumptions below. They are not a quote, an offer, or a prediction of your results.
- Debt relief program: creditors settle for about 53% of enrolled debt, plus program fees of about 25% of enrolled debt, over 24–60 months depending on the balance.
- Consolidation loan: 17% APR, 60-month term, fixed payments. Your rate depends on your credit and the lender.
- Minimum payments: 24% APR, minimum payment of 1% of the balance plus monthly interest (at least $25), and no new purchases.
